Expertise

My expertise lies primarily in the following topics:

  • Software Engineering. With a long experience at all levels in the software industry (developer, project manager, CTO), I have a broad knowledge of software development methodology and its management.
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). In this area, I've worked on the problem of the life-cycle of services, which involves their adaptation to changing protocoles. I've also worked on the integration of web services into office environment, in particular spreadsheet.
  • Decision Support Systems. I have been working on various data analysis and mining problematics, including online analytics of nominal data. While numerical data can easily be aggregated using mathematical operators to build, e.g., OLAP systems, nominal data can't and require special handling. I've also been looking at the analysis of log data, including noise removal, visualization and querying of such data.
  • Business Process Management. I've done research on how to infer models of business processes by the observation of available traces of these processes. That is, we look at application logs and/or office documents (spreadsheets, emails) and attempt to reconstruct from them complete traces which are then modeled as business processes. This involves the corellation of various documents into traces, the building of a graphical model from the trace, and operations on the model.
